A.M. Best retracts Pathfinder Insurance ratings

A.M. Best has withdrawn the ratings of Pathfinder Insurance Company (Pathfinder) at its request to no longer participate in the interactive ratings process.

The ratings firm had recently affirmed the financial strength rating of “B++ (Good)” and issuer credit rating of “bbb” to Pathfinder.

The ratings reflect Pathfinders strong capitalisation, as reflected in its high Best’s Capital Adequacy Ratio, and its high profitability.

Pathfinder is used by its parent, Avis Budget Group (ABG), to assure that it maintains uninterrupted third party liability insurance on its automobiles that are registered in jurisdictions in which Pathfinder operates.

Partially offsetting these positive ratings is Pathfinders limited scope of business and its dependence on ABG for business generation.
