About the industry in Ireland

Ireland has developed into one of the few truly international re/insurance centres by becoming a home to both generalists and specialists: this diversity of business gives Ireland its unique flavour as an international centre for risk business.

The representative body for re/insurance in Ireland is now Insurance Ireland. At the beginning of 2017, Insurance Ireland and the Dublin International Insurance & Management Association (DIMA) merged, bringing together the domestic and international insurance and reinsurance sectors.

The merged association represents over 140 insurers, reinsurers and captives in a major industry that employs approximately 28,000 people and provides vital services for economic activity both in Ireland and internationally.

About the European Insurance Forum

The European Insurance Forum (EIF) is a leading European conference for the re/insurance sectors.

Since it was first held in 1999, EIF has become a signature event in the Irish and European re/insurance and captive calendars: it is a place to learn, network and do business with peers and clients.

The conference has built a reputation for considering the strategic trends and challenges affecting the re/insurance and captive industry, and 2017 will be no different.

Attracting more than 200 C-suite executives and with a stellar line-up of international speakers including global industry experts, thought leaders and change makers, you can expect to be challenged and informed as we consider how our industry is facing up to the future.

Join us for this one day conference and gala dinner and you too can “change the game”.

About the conference theme

Ours is a global business and one that is defined by managing risk. Industry and business strategy is driven by a deep understanding of the issues and risks we face and the ever changing environment in which we operate.

Our theme is “Change the Game” reflecting not least the impact of Brexit – and the potential impact of the Trump presidency – but also the other big trends which will shape our industry and society in the years ahead.

We have had many of the world’s senior global industry figures and policy makers participate in EIF over the years.
