AXA XL has recruited Alonso Tello as vice president of its captives and alternative solutions business, it has been confirmed.
Tello joins AXA XL from Zurich Insurance, where he was a senior fronting manager of its captive services and alternative risk transfer.
He joined Zurich in 2011 and has worked in various roles including senior underwriter of alternative risk transfer, liability claims specialist and associate.
In addition to Tello, AXA XL recently announced the appointment of Austin Su as US underwriting lead of its structured risk solutions business.
Based in New York, Su joined the structured risk solutions global alternative risk transfer business, with a focus on developing structured (re)insurance for AXA XL's captives and large corporate clients.
