Chubb names new chief reinsurance officer

Chubb Group has appointed Michael Kessler as vice president and chief reinsurance officer, effective 1 August.

Kessler will succeed William O’Farrell, who has served as chief reinsurance officer since 2005, and is leaving Chubb to pursue other business opportunities.

In his new role, Kessler will be responsible for the design and purchase of reinsurance programmes for Chubb and its business units worldwide. He will report to John Keogh, executive vice chairman and COO of Chubb.

Kessler will also serve as chairman of Chubb’s Reinsurance Security Committee and a member of its Global Credit Committee.

Keogh commented: “We are particularly pleased to appoint Michael Kessler to this important leadership role for our company.”
