Lithgow appointed President of Aon Risk Solutions in Canada

Aon Corporation has appointed Christine Lithgow, a leader in the insurance brokerage and risk management industry with more than 30 years of experience, as president of Aon Risk Solutions (Aon Reed Stenhouse Inc.) in Canada. She replaces current President Chris Fawcus, who is retiring.

“As a fragile global economy has created challenges for our clients in Canada and around the world, I can’t think of anyone more qualified to carry on Chris’ leadership than Christine,” said Steve McGill, chairman and chief executive officer, Aon Risk Solutions. “Her clear vision and extensive experience in both broking and sales will help us better serve our clients and capitalize on the growth opportunities in front of us in Canada. Christine’s ability to build and maintain long-lasting relationships with our clients and insurer partners is indicative of the leadership she will bring to this important role on behalf of our colleagues.

“I want to thank Chris for his many years of service and numerous contributions made to Aon on behalf of our clients and colleagues. Chris’ leadership and dedication is demonstrated by his willingness to support Christine’s transition so that we can provide a seamless experience for our clients and colleagues in Canada. For that, I am greatly appreciative.”

“After 23 years with this great company, and five as its president and CEO in Canada, the time has come for an evolution in our leadership,” said Fawcus. “I am extremely pleased that Christine has agreed to take on this responsibility, and I look forward to working with her to facilitate this transition.”

Lithgow began her career at Aon predecessor Reed Stenhouse in the UK before moving to Canada in 1981. In her 30 years with Aon and its predecessors in Canada, she has held several senior positions in national, regional and branch management roles, most recently as chief broking officer. Her appointment is effective immediately and she will be based in the firm’s Toronto office.
